We had our first meeting this past friend to discuss what we want out of this club. I will go over the topics we want to cover, and if you couldn't make it to the meeting and have some suggestions feel free to let me know by comments or emailing botmug@gmail.com.
Homebrewing: This is the main purpose of the club, we want to help people with interest in homebrewing learn how to do it with out having to purchase all of the equipment. We also want to go from homebrew kits to doing all grain brewing which will include recipe creation. Once we start making our own beer we will be entering
Beer Tasting: This will basically be trying different style and discussing them. We will go over how to taste beers as well as going to beer fests and touring breweries.
Beer and Food Pairing: We will be setting up potluck style beer pairings, where everyone will bring a dish prepared or bought and bring a beer that pairs with it. If you want some ideas of food pairing check out food pairing segment on the podcast New Brew Thursday.
Guest speakers: Once we have a decent amount of members, I will try to get some speakers to talk to us about different topics about beer.
We will have meetings about once a month, we don't have a set location yet but we are looking. I will be posting more info for the next meeting on here as well as the facebook group Bottom of the Mug. The next meeting will be at Main Street brewery/Lampost pizza, no date yet but let me know when would be good for you in March.
